Rising Students maul Rameswar Sporting in Bamanda Cup final

Rising Students (Cuttack) crushed Rameswar Sporting by 142 runs in the final to win the 20th All-India Bamanda Cup Cricket Tournament at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Deogarh today. Rising Students captain Biplab Samantaray slammed a 76-ball 111 and followed it with three wickets to be adjudged both man of the match and man of the tournament. The champion side received the top prize of Rs 25,000, while runners-up Rameswar Sporting were given Rs 15,000. Food and Supply Minister Sarada Prasad Nayak handed over the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function. BRIEF SCORE: Rising Students: 223 got 8 in 35 overs (Biplab Samantaray 111, Sambit Rout 35: Rajesh Mohapatra 3/36, Alok Mangaraj 2/30) beat Rameswar Sporting: 81 all out in 19 overs (Priyabrat Pradhan 33: Satyapriya Das 4/31, Biplab Samantaray 3/5, Manas Muduli 2/1).
